Leo, who is Fortenberry Roofing's Commercial Project Manager, went out to give an estimate for a leaking church building in Plainview, TX. Once Leo spoke with the church contact about what the issues were, he was able to get on the roof, measure it and see the damage up close. In his assessment, he found that the leaks were happening due to a damaged ridge cap all across the building. Leo then wrote up a proposal that included replacing the ridge cap completely or just repairing the areas where the leaks were occurring. The church staff agreed that it would be best to replace the entire ridge cap to ensure that any areas under the cap were sealed up if they were leaking, and also areas that aren't leaking but still needed to be repaired can be.
A tenant in Plainview, TX had been having issues with the roof of his rental house due to hail and wind damage. It got to the point where a tarp was needed to cover a portion of the roof to slow down a few leaks. He spoke with the property owner about the roof, and together they were able to find Fortenberry Roofing, a local roofing contractor, to help them with the roofing issues the house was experiencing.
The tenant reached out and was able to set an appointment for a free re-roof estimate with Robbie, who is Fortenberry's Residential Sales Lead. They discussed the issues of the roof and Robbie met him at the property to assess the damage and measure the roof in order to give an accurate roof replacement estimate. After the tenant and homeowner took time to go over the options Robbie presented, they were able to come to a decision about what type of re-roof they wanted and what option of shingle they wanted to be installed.
After the final contract was signed, Fortenberry Roofing's residential project manager was able to prepare for the re-roof by studying the measurements and pictures Robbie took. This is so he could order all the necessary materials needed for the upcoming re-roof. On the day of the re-roof, the repair crew began by setting up tarps along the outside of the house in order to protect the windows and siding of the house from any falling debris in the tear-off process. Once the tarps were set in place, the crew began to remove the old shingles and installed new decking (wood foundation) in areas where it was damaged, then installed new IKO Stormtite synthetic underlayment over the decking. After the underlayment was secured, the IKO Dynasty shingles in the color Driftshake were installed bundle by bundle until the entire roof was covered. Along with new shingles, all the pipe vents were replaced and properly flashed in with ice and water shield underlayment. A section of old gutters was also removed and discarded.
After a full day of work by the re-roof crew, the roof was complete. The homeowner and tenant were both well pleased with the outcome of the roof and how Fortenberry Roofing took care of them throughout the entire roof replacement process.
